What We Believe

What We Believe

Remnant Community Church

is a Bible-believing, Bible-teaching church

“2 Tim. 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25”

We believe that the Bible is the Inspired Word of God and is without error, which reveals to us the revelation of God’s Will for the Salvation of Mankind. We firmly believe that the Word of God should be the final authority over all, especially believers in Jesus the Christ.

“John 4:23-24; Matthew 28:19”
We believe there is only one true and living God, infinite in holiness and all other perfections. The eternal God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.

“John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:35”
We believe that Christ is the eternal Son of God and that he was crucified and buried for our sins. On the third day, he arose from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, making intercession for us.

“John 14:46; John 16:8; Ephesians 4:30”
We believe that the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of God. He convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He enlightens and empowers the believer and the church in worship, evangelism, and service.

“Genesis 1:25; Romans 5:19”
We believe man was created by God, in His image, and is the crowning work of His creation. By his free choice, man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God.

“Matthew 20:17-19, 28:6-7; John 5:28-29”
We believe that the Scriptures teach that Jesus rose from the dead. He now exists in His glorified body at God’s right hand. We believe that there will be a resurrection of the righteous and the wicked, and the bodies of the righteous will conform to the glorious spiritual body of Jesus Christ.

“Ephesians 2:8-9; John 3:16-17”
We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

“Mark 1:14-15; John 16:18”
We believe that repentance and faith are wrought in our souls by the Spirit of God.

“Romans 3:26; 5:1, 2; Acts 13:38-39”
We believe that justification is God’s gracious and full acquittal upon principles of righteousness of all sinners who believe in Christ.

“John 3:3; 2 Corinthians 5:17”
We believe that regeneration or the new birth is a change of heart brought by the Holy Spirit.

“1 Peter 1:2; I Thessalonians 5:23-24”
We believe that sanctification is a progressive process by which we are made partakers of His holiness, that it is begun in regeneration, and that it is carried on in the hearts of believers by the presence and power of the Holy Spirit.

“Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4”
We believe that Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water as an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Savior, the believer’s death to sin, the burial of the old life, and the resurrection to walk in newness of life in Christ Jesus.

“1 Corinthians 11:24-25; 28”
The Lord’s Supper is a symbolic act of obedience whereby members of the Body of Christ, through partaking of the bread and the fruit of the vine, are ever mindful of the death of the Redeemer and anticipate His second coming.

“2 Corinthians 9:6-10”
We believe that every Christian, as a steward of the portion of God’s wealth entrusted to him, should give both cheerfully and generously in support of the local church with their Time, Talent, and Treasure.
